Hunton & Williams LLP partner Amy McDaniel Williams was named to the 2014 Class of “Influential Women of Virginia” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. The honor recognizes women from all fields, including law, business, health care, education and the arts, who make notable contributions to their professions, communities and society.

In addition to her active practice dedicated to structured finance, chairing the firm’s Ethics in Marketing Committee, co-chairing the firm’s Diversity Committee and serving on the firm’s Opinions Committee, Amy is actively involved in charitable organizations in the community. She served as pro bono general counsel and president of the board of trustees of the Maymont Foundation. After her father was diagnosed with blood cancer, she abandoned her sedentary lifestyle and competed in marathons, century bike rides and triathlons, in honor of her father, raising more than $30,000 to support the mission of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. More recently, she joined the board of Swim RVA, a non-profit that operates a state-of-the art competitive swimming pool facility and is dedicated to saving lives by drownproofing Richmond. In July, she will join the board of advisors of Massey Cancer Center, a comprehensive center of excellence in cancer research, prevention and control, patient care, and the center she credits with saving her own life from cancer.
