Included in Global Competition Review’s GCR 100 for the last six years

Now more than ever, businesses are subject to an increased focus on antitrust enforcement around the globe. Our experience working both inside and outside of the agencies uniquely situates us to provide up-to-the minute counsel regarding all types of antitrust concerns in a multitude of jurisdictions worldwide. Our attorneys have been and are currently representing clients in some of the most high-profile antitrust matters in recent years. Armed with this experience and a team of talented practitioners, we are prepared to help global organizations navigate the ever-changing antitrust landscape through the challenges of antitrust litigation, merger review, and investigations.

Hunton & Williams LLP's antitrust and competition practice, comprised of nearly 30 attorneys across several offices, stands ready to assist clients across a host of industries. Our practice is lead by D. Bruce Hoffman, former Federal Trade Commission Deputy Director of the Bureau of Competition. At the FTC, he played key roles in the merger review program and development of the policies underlying the agency's non-merger enforcement program, and supervised and participated in a host of high-tech monopolization, price-fixing and conspiracy cases. David A. Higbee, former Justice Department Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Chief of Staff at the Antitrust Division, oversaw all aspects of both criminal and civil enforcement at the agency, and now serves as a vice-chair of the practice. Ray V. Hartwell, III, another vice-chair, has over 30 years of experience in antitrust and competition-related investigations, litigation and counseling, and, frequently speaks alongside DOJ officials and other leading private practitioners on panels addressing all aspects of criminal antitrust investigations.

The practice has received many notable honors, and the group’s attorneys have been recognized as well. We are proud to have been ranked in Global Competition Review's GCR 100, Chambers Global, Chambers USA, International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers, Guide to the World’s Leading Competition and Antitrust Lawyers, and Benchmark Litigation. Our attorneys are seen as thought leaders in the antitrust and competition arena, and are frequent contributors to the leading publications in antitrust law.
