Homeland Security Practice Immigration and Nationality Law Labor & Employment

Counsel on the Labor and Employment Law Team. Practice focuses on labor and employment law, including labor disputes, employment litigation, safety and health and advice matters.
Relevant Experience
Developed, implemented, and audited occupational safety and health compliance programs for employers. Filed comments on behalf of employers with respect to proposed OSHA standards; conducted seminars and drafted policies with respect to obligations under OSHA; defended employers facing OSHA citation; counseled employers regarding OSHA obligations. Represented employers in lawsuits and agency proceedings throughout the country in cases involving employment discrimination and harassment claims, whistleblower claims, employment tort and contract claims, defamation claims, wage and hour issues, retaliation, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA and wrongful discharge. Frequent speaker to managers and employees on preventative practices to avoid employment litigation; employment law compliance; safety and health compliance; and pandemic disaster preparedness. Prepares emergency response action plans for employers in the event of infectious disease outbreaks and other disasters. Counsels employers, including government contractors, with respect to all facets of the employer/employee relationship, including discrimination and harassment issues, wage and hour issues, safety and health issues, non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements. Prepared and reviewed employee handbooks, corporate policies, and employment agreements. Represents unionized employer with respect to all aspects of the collective bargaining relationship, including contract interpretation, grievances, arbitration and defense of unfair labor practices. Represents employers in state law unfair competition, trade secret and business tort cases.
