Gregory B. Robertson

Mr. Robertson co-chairs the firm's Labor and Employment teams across all offices. His practice focuses on all aspects of labor and employment law including labor relations and employment advice and litigation, representation elections, collective bargaining, labor disputes, corporate campaigns, EEO and related employment law issues with specific knowledge of the service, manufacturing, food distribution, textile, health care, coal and other natural resource industries.

Mr. Robertson has been repeatedly named to numerous Best Lawyer lists including Best Lawyers of America, Chambers USA, Virginia's Legal Elite and is listed by Super Lawyers in 2010 as one of the top 50 lawyers in Virginia.

Relevant Experience

  • Provides advice and counseling to corporations who are the target of corporate campaigns.
  • Initiated and prosecuted a successful RICO action in response to a multi-year, multi-faceted corporate campaign against a Fortune 100 company.
  • Substantial litigation experience in employment, employee benefit and labor relations matters in state and federal courts, appellate courts, before administrative agencies and in arbitration proceedings.
  • Handled dozens of representation and decertification elections for employers of all sizes including numerous campaigns in units of 500 to 5000 employees.
  • Handled large- and medium-sized non competition and trade secrets cases in state and federal courts.
  • Prepared numerous executive and key employee contracts.
  • Represented large and medium-sized employers in various labor disputes, both wildcat and authorized strikes that included violence and resulted in 10(j) and other injunctive and contempt proceedings.
  • Successfully negotiated numerous collective bargaining agreements.
  • Lobbied on behalf of employers and associations regarding employment and labor-related legislation.
  • Negotiated and drafted labor and employment components of agreements for mergers and acquisitions involving Fortune 500 companies.
  • Routinely provides advice and counseling regarding state and federal labor and employment laws.
  • Delivered numerous speeches and articles regarding labor relations and employment law.
