Substantial experience in distressed property workouts, transferable development rights, District of Columbia zoning opinions, commercial real property tax appeals, income and sales tax deficiency assessments, and historic preservation requirements.

  • Represent numerous clients on land use and business development issues in D.C.
  • Represent numerous clients on property tax appeals (banks, office buildings, hotels, luxury residences, special purpose properties) in Metropolitan Washington area.
  • Active in the transfer of development rights in D.C. from historic properties to receiving zones on behalf of property owners.
  • Appear before various land use boards such as zoning commission (planned developments and rule changes), zoning board (variances and special exceptions) and historic preservation board (historic designations and review of design plans).
  • Represent clients before various D.C. agencies and administrative bodies on a variety of issues (licenses, permits, certificates of occupancy).
