Practice focuses on litigation with an emphasis on financial institutions and government regulatory advice, internal investigations, corporate compliance,  petroleum marketing, business torts, contract and partnership disputes, products liability and intellectual property. Trial experience in federal and state courts. Advises multinational companies in connection with domestic legislation and matters related to operations in the Americas and the Caribbean.  Head of Litigation in the Miami office and Firmwide Practice Group Leader for Commercial Litigation.

  • Trial experience in both federal and state courts on behalf of Fortune 500 companies.
  • Represented a top European bank in connection with class action law suit filed in Florida on behalf of bank customers related to an alleged international Ponzi scheme.
  • Represented a US financial institution in a securities fraud class action filed on behalf of South American individuals who invested in an alleged  Ponzi scheme in Florida.
  • Represented a large multinational beverage distributor with payment disputes over a non-payment of stock.
  • Represented leading multinational companies in connection with disputes arising from operations in South and Central America including civil RICO claims.
  • Represented Fortune 500 manufacturer in defense of national product liability class action.
  • Involved in representing various financial institutions in regulatory matters, securities litigation, and litigation over distressed debt.
  • Substantial experience representing petroleum franchisors in Petroleum Marketing Practices Act matters and petroleum pricing matters.
  • Conducted several internal investigations for various Fortune 500 companies.
  • Conducted Corporate Compliance reviews for various Fortune 500 companies.
  • Experience representing companies and institutions before various state agencies relating to litigation and regulatory matters.
  • Represented entities and individuals in connection with corporate governance issues, including disputes among partners and shareholders of closely held private corporations.
  • Defended action for pesticide-related personal injuries arising out of plaintiff's alleged exposure to the chemical Dursban®.
  • Defended a U.S. manufacturer of fertilizer in action filed by a South American farmer alleging crop damage due to application of fertilizer.
  • Represented a Fortune 500 trademark holder in numerous lawsuits against counterfeiters, including obtaining favorable settlements involving insurers.
