Practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and internal investigations, including particular experience working with corporate clients to respond to the challenges of electronic discovery and preservation under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and in response to governmental investigations.

Relevant Experience
  • Advising large financial services company on enterprise-wide preservation activities in response to government subpoenas and related civil litigation, including preservation at hundreds of locations around the country. 
  • Working with corporate clients to design and implement company-wide legal hold and ediscovery protocols.
  • Is a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group 6:  International Electronic Information Management, Discovery and Disclosure.
  • Along with his colleagues at Hunton, currently serving as national ediscovery coordinating counsel for large telecommunications company. 
  • Developed and implemented plan to review application decommissioning at large company facing significant legal hold obligations to ensure that all applications that are subject to possible legal hold are preserved.
  • Coordinated electronic discovery related to significant and successful airline merger.
  • Represents Fortune 250 financial services company in MDL and related SEC and DOJ investigations concerning bidding practices in the municipal bond industry.
  • Represented top 10 insurance broker in multi-district class action litigation and multi-state regulatory investigations relating to industry-wide investigation of broker compensation.
  • Conducted internal investigation of health insurance company with regard to broker compensation practices.
  • Represented Fortune 250 financial services company in criminal, civil and regulatory matters associated with actions of former sales representative.
  • Represented Fortune 250 financial institution in nationwide action involving allegations of improper marketing and sale of life insurance.
  • Conducted internal investigation on behalf of a Fortune 100 Company's Special Committee of the Board of Directors in anticipation of a derivative action.
