Practice focuses on complex litigation, insurance and reinsurance litigation and arbitration as well as complex commercial, securities and corporate matters. His experience includes litigating civil actions in trial and appellate courts nationwide.
Relevant Experience
- Represented primary insurance company in property insurance litigation arising from September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center Complex. Jury trial in New York federal court. Multi-billion dollar valuation appraisal tried before a three-member panel in New York.
- Represented ceding company in reinsurance arbitration arising from complex workers compensation carve-out coverage. Tried before a three- member panel in New York.
- Represented health insurers in complex, multi-claim action arising from excess health care costs. Jury trial in New York federal court.
- Advised and counseled insurers, brokers and policyholders with respect to D&O and E&O insurance coverage.
- Represented international chemical and pharmaceutical company in environmental insurance coverage action involving over 100 defendants, 75 environmental sites and nearly $1 billion in damages. Liability and damages phases tried in New Jersey State Court.
- Represented companies, investment advisors and others in litigation arising from mergers and acquisitions, including securities, antitrust and class action issues.
- Represented a British industrial holding company in securities fraud and breach of contract action by minority partner. Jury trial in New York federal court.
- Represented consortium of institutional investors in securities and breach of contract action against borrower.
- Represented banking corporation in a professional negligence action against a firm of petroleum engineers. Jury trial in federal court in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- Defended commodities brokerage firm in action alleging unauthorized trades. Bench trial in New York federal court.
- Defended Jordanian bank in action arising from an international trade guarantee; represented bank in subsequent liquidation proceeding.
- Represented chemical company in an action brought by a group of nuclear utility companies arising from a long-term uranium supply contract. Bench trial in New York federal court.
- Represented foreign central bank and other sovereign entities in an AAA arbitration arising from a commercial and countertrade transaction. Tried before a three-member panel in New York.
- Defended company in a class action suit instituted on behalf of persons alleging injury from exposure to the agricultural pesticide chlordimeform.
- Defended law firm in an employment discrimination action by an associate.
- Represented oil terminal in arbitration arising from water contamination at the terminal. Tried before a three-member panel in New York.
- Defended oil company in action by a worker severely injured at oil facility in Saudi Arabia. Bench trial in New York federal court.
