After graduating with honors from the University of Miami Law School in 2002, Patricia joined the litigation, intellectual property and antitrust department of Hunton & Williams LLP in Miami. Her practice has focused on the defense of media and publishing companies in First Amendment litigation, defamation, appropriation of likeness and other tort claims, complex commercial litigation and state and federal appeals.
Relevant Experience
- Obtained permanent injunction on behalf of nation's largest health information publishers against enforcement of state law banning publication of prescription information for violation of the First Amendment.
- Obtained appellate en banc ruling directing city commission to hold referendum on ordinance to require voter approval of $150 million public project.
- Obtained appellate reversal of prior restraint imposed on animal rights activists for protesting developer's use of exotic animals to market time-share condominiums in Orlando, Florida.
- Won declaration for world's largest passenger cruise lines that federal statute violates due process by threatening imposition of massive penalties.
