Practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property law with particular emphasis on patent procurement, litigation, and counseling.
Relevant Experience
- Prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a number of various technologies, including: electrical systems, medical devices, semiconductors, computer software, information technology, optical networking, database management, wireless networks, e-commerce, search engine technologies, and business methods for financial institutions.
- Provided research/analysis and rendered opinions related to patentability, validity, and infringement.
- Participated in complex patent prosecution, including petitions, appeals, reexaminations, and reissues.
- Patent examining experience in the electrical arts relating to liquid crystal displays, thin film transistors, optics and optical waveguides, optical communications, x-ray and gamma ray diagnostics, illumination, interferometry, and semiconductor films and processes.
- Assisted Administrative Patent Judges at the USPTO Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences by evaluating ex parte appeals, drafting subsequent opinions, and participating in pre-appeal and oral hearings.
