Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP associate Demitrianna Grekos has been selected as an honoree of the Daily Business Review’s annual Florida Legal Awards in the “Unsung Heroes” category. The awards, which recognize distinguished members of South Florida’s legal community, will host a ceremony for the winners on Thursday, April 4, at the JW Marriot Marquis in Miami. 

Grekos’ practice focuses on domestic and cross-border transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Her broad client base includes investment and asset management companies, REITs, international financial institutions, retail and consumer companies, and telecommunications companies. Additionally, she has provided hundreds of hours of pro bono service to multiple organizations, including the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association.

Grekos is very active in South Florida’s legal community, having recently been appointed to the board of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (MDFAWL). In addition, she serves as the co-chair of MDFAWL’s Women Making History and Mentoring committees. The organization selected her as the recipient of its Lynn Futch Rising Star Award in recognition of her initiative and dedication to the furtherance of MDFAWL’s mission. South Florida Business & Wealth’s Legal Awards also honored her last year as a junior associate.

She obtained her JD from Vanderbilt University Law School, has a master’s in finance from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.
