Hunton Andrews Kurth Advises Underwriters on Georgia Power Company’s $700 Million Floating Rate Senior Notes Offering

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised the underwriters on an SEC-registered offering by Georgia Power Company (“Georgia Power”) of $700 million aggregate principal amount of Series 2023C Floating Rate Senior Notes due May 8, 2025 (the “Series 2023C Senior Notes”). The net proceeds of the Series 2023C Senior Notes will be used to repay all or a portion of Georgia Power’s outstanding commercial paper borrowings, which aggregated approximately $550 million as of November 2, 2023. Any remaining net proceeds will be used for other general corporate purposes, including the Georgia Power’s continuous construction program.

Georgia Power is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution and purchase of electricity and the sale of electric service within the State of Georgia, at retail in over 530 cities and towns (including Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, Rome and Savannah), as well as in rural areas and at wholesale.
