    • Counsel to Progress Energy in connection with its $26 billion merger with Duke Energy, creating the largest utility in the U.S., providing service to more than seven million electric customers with approximately 57 GW of domestic generating capacity from a diversified mix of coal, nuclear, natural gas, oil and renewable resources.
    • Counsel to Exergy Development Group LLC, in connection with the development and financing of a 183 MW wind generation project, comprising 122 wind turbines at 11 project sites, located in the state of Idaho. Exergy Development Group completed the development of the wind project, partnering with other equity investors, including GE Energy Financial Services, and obtained debt financing from a consortium of financial institutions.
    • Counsel to Power Partners Ltd. in connection with the $1 billion financing for the GNPower Mariveles Coal Plant project, a 600 MW coal-fired plant to be constructed in the Municipality of Mariveles, Province of Bataan, the Philippines. Recognized as “2011 Power Deal of the Year” by five leading publications, including IFLR and PFI.
    • Counsel to Reliance Power Ltd. in its development and financing of the $4.2 billion 4,000 MW Sasan power project, awarded “2009 Indian Power Deal of the Year” by PFM.
    • Counsel to Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, Inc., in connection with its purchase of solar assets from MMA Renewable Ventures, LLC.
    • Counsel to PTT Asahi Chemical Company Limited in an ongoing project financing of an acrylonitrile and methyl methacrylate monomer production facility in Map Ta Phut, Rayong Province, Thailand, which was awarded “2008 Asia-Pacific Petrochemicals Deal of the Year” by PFM.
    • Counsel to the Government of Uganda on the development, construction and financing of the $900 million Bujagali hydroelectric power plant on the River Nile, including structuring and negotiating all bidding documentation, including the power purchase agreement and implementation agreement, and advising on the EPC contracts for the project.  Awarded “2007 African Power Deal of the Year” by PFM.
    • Counsel to SEACOM, Ltd. on all aspects of its $650 million subsea fiber optic cable project that extends 15,000 km along the eastern coast of Africa, linking the continent to India and Europe and involving eight jurisdictions stretching from Mtunzini in South Africa to Mumbai in India and Marseille in France, via Mozambique, Madagascar, Kenya, Tanzania, and Egypt.  Awarded “2007 African Telecoms Deal of the Year” by PFM.
    • Counsel to InterGen in connection with: its acquisition and related acquisition financing of the TransAlta Mexican power portfolio; its acquisition, development and subsequent sale of the Mountainview Power Plant Project, a 1,054 MW project located in California; and numerous project development and financings, including the La Rosita, Wildflower and Bajio projects.
    • Counsel to UniStar Nuclear Energy in connection with the structuring, development and financing (including negotiation of a conditional commitment with the Department of Energy under the Title XVII loan guarantee program) for the Calvert Cliffs 3 Project.
    • Counsel to Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) in connection with the $1.2 billion financing for the Tangguh project, an approximately 7 MMTPA gas liquefaction facility in Indonesia being developed by BP plc, Mitsubishi, Mitsui, INPEX Corp., Nippon Oil, JOGMEC, Sumitomo Corp., Sojitz, Kanematsu and CNOOC. Recipient of multiple "Project of the Year" awards.
    • Counsel to Macquarie Capital and J&P-Avax S.A. on the development, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the Comarnic—Braşov motorway in Romania.
    • Counsel to the Government of Guam for the implementation of a public-private concession for the Guam Waterworks Authority’s water and wastewater systems.
    • Members of the practice served as counsel to the Government of the Republic of Croatia in connection with the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the Zagreb Airport project.
    • Counsel to Plinacro d.o.o. in connection with the €15 billion South Stream natural gas pipeline project being developed jointly by Bulgarian, Serbian, Albanian, Italian and Russian participants to transport natural gas from Russia under the Black Sea to Italy.
