In July 2005, Hunton & Williams LLP, in partnership with the University of Virginia School of Law, opened a pro bono office on the campus of the Legal Aid Justice Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. Today, law school students and Hunton & Williams lawyer volunteers work from this office to provide free legal services to low-income Charlottesville area victims of domestic violence and to immigrants seeking asylum from persecution in their country of origin.

In June 1990, Hunton & Williams established a satellite office in Richmond's historic Church Hill neighborhood to provide pro bono services to financially limited persons. For a modest fee, which the firm donates to charity, the Church Hill office offers legal services in the following subject areas:
- family law (uncontested divorce, adoptions, name changes)
- housing and real estate (landlord-tenant, purchase or sale of real property, housing problems)
guardianships
- The office also accepts (without fee) all uncontested divorce case clients from the general Richmond area who are referred by the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society.
The firm is dedicated to the idea that lawyers must address the increasing cost of legal services and make legal services more widely available to all citizens. The Church Hill office is a reflection of the firm’s commitment to that idea. More than 50 attorneys volunteer to represent clients at the Church Hill office on a rotating schedule each year.

The Southside Legal Center is the cornerstone pro bono effort of Hunton & Williams’ Atlanta office. Opened in September 1995, in cooperation with the Atlanta Project, the office is located in southeast Atlanta and serves area residents whose incomes are too large to make them eligible for Legal Aid, but too small to hire a private attorney. For a modest fee, which the firm donates to charity, the Southside Legal Center offers legal services in the following areas:
- Adoptions
- Business Law Matters
- Uncontested Divorces
- Temporary Protective Orders
- Guardianships
- Private Landlord/Tenant Disputes
- Residential Real Estate Transactions
- Name Changes
- Wills and Advance Directives
Since the Southside Legal Center was established in 1995, more than 900 individuals and organizations have contacted the clinic for assistance with various legal matters. The clinic has represented more than 300 individuals and organizations and referred the majority of the remainder to other lawyers and legal aid organizations.
