In his practice, Matt represents clients on compliance with environmental laws. As part of his practice, he works with clients who are subject to enforcement at the state and federal levels and clients who are involved in corporate transactions involving brownfields or other properties with environmental law components. He also has a particular interest in advising clients on water allocation issues. Matt has experience working with owners of industrial facilities, particularly in the chemicals and energy industries, and real estate developers, among other clients.
Matt clerked in United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. He is admitted to practice in the State of North Carolina, the Middle District of North Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
