In the courtroom – In Clendenin, the Maryland Supreme Court ruled that the total pollution exclusion does not bar insurance liability coverage for an injury suit arising from workplace exposure to manganese welding fumes.

At the conference – Policyholder attorney Katherine Henry and insurer attorney Robert Lawrence, lead counsel in the Clendenin case, will provide their insights on the arguments presented to the court and tell you how this important decision affects your cases, the underlying litigation, and the insurance industry.

In the courtroom – A New York Appeals Court affirmed the first U.S. jury verdict linking asbestos from welding rods to mesothelioma and lung cancer.

At the conference – Plaintiff attorney Jerome Block will discuss the specifics of this case and provide expert insight on the science and medicine so you can succeed in the potentially explosive field of asbestoscontaining welding rods cases.

In the courtroom – MDL 1535 defendants want plaintiffs to produce independent diagnoses.

At the conference – Plaintiffs’ liaison counsel (and conference co-chair) John Climaco and defendants’ liaison counsel John Beisner will analyze the depositions that have taken place, the documents that have been produced, and the status of the Daubert briefs and hearings – and disclose tactics that will give you an edge in court and at settlement.
