ATLANTA — Hunton & Williams LLP today announced that Karen M. Sanzaro has joined the Global Technology and Sourcing Practice group in the firm’s Atlanta office. She is the third lawyer to join the group as partner in less than one month.  Ms. Sanzaro joined Hunton & Williams from Alston & Bird, where she was a partner and a member of its Technology Group and Privacy and Data Management Task Force.

“Karen’s arrival just a few weeks after Jim Harvey and Jim Meadows is another indication of the level of our commitment to the sourcing and technology space,” said Randy Parks, practice co-chair. “Karen, along with Jim and Jim, are recognized leaders in the dynamic sourcing and technology legal  communities.”

“I am delighted to be reunited with Karen,” continued Jim Harvey, who joined the firm from Alston & Bird in January and co-chairs the practice with Parks. “We joined Hunton & Williams because of the ability to field integrated, global teams to execute the most complex sourcing, offshoring and technology transactions.   Adding Karen, a fine young lawyer, is a critical step in our mission to become the board-level ‘go to’ firm for the Global 1000 in sourcing, technology and intangible infrastructure matters.”

Ms. Sanzaro concentrates her practice on a wide range of technology transactions, including complex IT and business process multi-shore sourcing transactions, including offshore initiatives and joint ventures, and advice regarding the acquisition, licensing and distribution of intellectual property. She routinely counsels clients on legal issues associated with data management, security and privacy.

An undergraduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Ms. Sanzaro received her law degree from Georgetown University. She is admitted to practice in Georgia, the District of Columbia and Maryland. She is also a member of the technology section of the State Bar of Georgia; the computer and telecommunications law section of the District of Columbia Bar; the Board of Directors Network; and the Technology Association of Georgia. She has published articles in the Computer and Internet Lawyer, Privacy and Information Law Report, Electronic Banking Law and Commerce Report and Computer and Internet Litigation Journal.

The Global Technology and Sourcing Group at Hunton & Williams LLP consists of more than 30 professionals focused on large-scale, sourcing and technology transactions, with extensive experience in matters relating to intangible infrastructure.  The group works closely with the firm’s Privacy and Data Management Practice as well as its Center for Information Policy Leadership (www.informationpolicycenter.com) to offer clients integrated solutions to complex issues presented by cross-border technology and sourcing transactions.
