Hunton seeks an attorney with at least one to three (class of 2024 – class of 2021) years of experience to join the Business Tax practice group of the Tax & ERISA team in a full-time, partnership-track associate position working on a broad range of tax advisory and controversy matters, with a focus on state and local taxes. We are looking to add an attorney who will join a practice that advises clients on the full range of federal and state tax consulting, planning, controversy, and M&A matters. The attorney will be expected to provide guidance on state and local income, franchise, sales and use taxes and unclaimed property laws. The attorney will also assist in advising on, and researching, federal income tax transactional and planning matters. Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate initiative and potential for leadership, and have the judgment and confidence to work independently with clients and colleagues. Active New York state bar admission is required.  This position is located in the firm’s New York City office, with in-office work expected four to five days a week. At the time of posting, the expected salary range for this position for full-time partnership-track associates is $225,000 to $310,000. Actual salary offers may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education, training, skill sets, licensure and certifications, practice area, experience, internal equity, and market data.
