OTA’s new draft IoT framework ‘mirrors’ EU GDPR obligations

The Online Trust Alliance recently published their draft IoT Framework in an effort to assist manufacturers, developers, and retailers who are developing or marketing connected devices relating to home automation and wearables. Wim Nauwelaerts reports to Cyber Security Law & Practice stating, “Many of the requirements in the draft Framework mirror obligations imposed by national legislation in EU Member States and the upcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation.” Nauwelaerts’ practice focuses on European data protection matters.
