Hunton & Williams LLP acted as counsel to the remarketing agent for the remarketing of $21,000,000 Monroe County, Georgia Pollution Control Revenue Bonds (Gulf Power Company Plant Scherer Project), First Series 2010. The Bonds were originally issued provide funds to finance or refinance a portion of the cost of the acquisition, construction, installation and equipping of Gulf Power’s interest in certain solid waste disposal facilities located at Unit No. 3 of the Scherer steam electric generating plant in Monroe County, Georgia, of which Gulf Power owns a 25% undivided interest.

Gulf Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Southern Company. Gulf Power is engaged, within the northwestern portion of Florida, in the generation, transmission, distribution, and purchase of electricity and the sale of electric service, at retail in 71 communities (including Pensacola, Panama City, and Fort Walton Beach), as well as in rural areas, and at wholesale to a non-affiliated utility.
