Hunton Andrews Kurth Advises IDB Invest in Loan to Banco de América Central, Sociedad Anónima

On August 12, 2020, Inter-American Investment Corporation (“IDB Invest”) closed on an unsecured $100 million loan facility to Banco de América Central, Sociedad Anónima (“BAC”). The proceeds of the loan will be used by BAC to make sub-loans to small and medium-sized enterprises in Guatemala. This transaction was approved as part of IDB Invest’s institutional response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to mitigate the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.

The US-based firm of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised IDB Invest as international counsel. Guatemalan legal advice to IDB Invest was provided by Arias.
