Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is advising Sundance Energy Inc. (Sundance) in its reorganization. Sundance filed its petition for Chapter 11 on March 9, 2021, in the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division with approximately $450.35 million in assets and $428.82 million in liabilities. The pre-packaged plan of reorganization seeks to implement a Restructuring Support Agreement that provides for a debt-for-equity exchange that will eliminate more than $250 million of funded debt obligations from Sundance’s balance sheet. Sundance expects to emerge from Chapter 11 in approximately 60 days with a strengthened balance sheet that will allow it to refocus efforts.

Based in Denver, Colorado, Sundance is an exploration and production company focused on the acquisition and development of oil and natural gas resource plays in North America with current assets in the Eagle Ford.

The Hunton Andrews Kurth team representing Sundance is led by partner Tad Davidson with assistance from associates Ashley Harper, Philip Guffy and Catherine Diktaban.
