WASHINGTON — January 14, 2014 — Hunton & Williams LLP announces the addition of partner Rori H. Malech to the firm's capital finance and global real estate team in Washington. Malech represents local and national developers, REITs, institutional equity investors, institutional and non-institutional lenders, and hotel owners and operators. Covering all areas of commercial real estate development and finance, her addition will enhance the firm’s strong presence in the real estate industry.

"Washington has proven to be a durable real estate market, and we have acted as lead counsel in some of this year's biggest Washington metro area real estate transactions," said Carl F. Schwartz, who leads Hunton & Williams' global real estate practice with Howard E. Schreiber. "Throughout her career, Rori has worked on transactions from coast to coast and internationally, so her experience fits perfectly with our real estate group expansion plans in the Washington market."

A frequent public speaker on real estate matters, Malech was recognized by The Legal 500 in 2013. She joins Hunton & Williams from Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where she practiced for 17 years and most recently served as co-chair of that firm's Washington real estate group. She received her JD from The George Washington University Law School and her undergraduate degree from Boston University.

Hunton & Williams' commercial real estate practice group is composed of 60 lawyers, who advise clients on matters involving the full spectrum of commercial, industrial, retail, multifamily, hospitality and mixed-use properties, as well as counseling global private equity, opportunity and hedge funds in all aspects of real estate investments.
