DALLAS — September 23, 2014 — Hunton & Williams LLP announces the continued expansion of its global real estate practice with the arrival of James “J.R.” England as counsel, based in the Dallas office. England, whose practice focuses on complex commercial real estate transactions, comes to the firm from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. His arrival follows that of California partner Robert Johnson earlier this month, Jerome Dano and Valerie Kitay as counsel in New York in July, and Washington partner Rori Malech earlier this year.

“JR has a winning combination of domestic and international real estate experience that blends perfectly with our clients’ needs,” says Howard E. Schreiber, co-head of the firm’s global real estate practice. “He is a well-respected lawyer in Texas and an outstanding addition to our growing practice. We welcome him to the team.”

Notably, England has advised on the world’s first carbon-neutral city, under construction in the Middle East. He authored the real estate chapter of The Business Laws of the United Arab Emirates as well as “Real Estate Investing In The Middle East: Foreign Ownership Restrictions In The GCC,” in The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel.

“I look forward to working with Hunton & Williams and contributing to the firm’s hard-earned reputation of delivering excellent value for its real estate clients,” says England.

The Hunton & Williams real estate practice boasts more than 75 lawyers. The group advises clients on the full spectrum of commercial, industrial, retail, multifamily, hospitality and mixed-use properties.
