NEW YORK — October 11, 2010 — Hunton & Williams LLP announces the expansion of its energy and project finance practice with the addition of Gregory F. Lang and Michael J. Madden as partners in the New York office. The two have a diversified transactional practice focused on project finance, private equity M&A, project development and leasing. They join Hunton & Williams from Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP, where they were partners, and previously had been members of the projects team of Paul Hastings.

"We are delighted Greg and Mike have joined Hunton & Williams. They are well known to our clients and have worked side-by-side with members of our team," said John Hawkins, co-head of the firm’s energy project finance team. "Their personalities, skills and experience sync perfectly with our established team and will further expand the capabilities we have to meet clients' growing needs domestically and internationally."

Lang focuses his practice on the representation of developers, institutional investors, private equity funds and independent power producers in connection with the development, financing, and acquisition of domestic and international energy and infrastructure projects. Madden's transactional experience includes a variety of complex structures relating to constructing, financing, and acquiring and disposing of power, natural gas and other energy assets.

Hunton & Williams has had a leading energy and utility practice for more than a century and has represented a broad array of electric utility companies, independent power companies, independent system operators, oil and gas companies, equity investors and lenders to (and developers of) some of the largest energy project financing transactions globally. The firm's project finance practice has been ranked by The American Lawyer as one of the top worldwide, and was also highly ranked in Chambers Global for 2010.
