RICHMOND, Va. — February 1, 2013 — Hunton & Williams LLP is pleased to announce partner Laura Ellen Jones received the 2013 Chambers USA "Women in Law Award" in the "Energy & Projects" category for her commercial achievements as well as her involvement in gender and equality initiatives, mentoring programs, public speaking and social activism. The annual Women in Law Awards were established by Chambers and Partners to honor leading female in-house and private practice lawyers who are committed to furthering the advancement of women in the law. Presented by practice area categories, Jones was named 2013 "Projects and Energy Lawyer of the Year."

Jones was chosen for this award in part for her service on the Board of Directors of the Solar Energy Industries Association, the largest solar industry trade association in the U.S. She is also Chairwoman of the association's Solar Services & Consumers Division. In addition, Laura is a member of the Board of Directors and a volunteer for the Community Tax Law Project.

Jones was also selected due to her commitment to Hunton & Williams' Women's Networking Forum, a firm-sponsored organization that provides opportunities for its female lawyers to interact and network with other business women in their communities through social events and educational seminars. Jones, one of the founding members of this organization in Richmond, has been active in its development throughout the years and has seen it expand to six additional Hunton & Williams offices.

In addition to this recent award, Jones was named a Chambers USA "Leader in the Field, Projects: Renewable and Alternative Energy," in 2011 and 2012, and noted as a Chambers USA "Up and Coming, Projects: Renewable and Alternative Energy," in 2010.
