RICHMOND, Va. — May 3, 2011 — Hunton & Williams LLP announces the promotion of corporate lawyers Andrew J. Blanchard (Richmond) and David R. Yates (Atlanta) and tax lawyer Timothy Lee Jacobs (Washington) to Counsel, effective April 29. Through their many accomplishments, they have distinguished themselves as excellent lawyers and valued members of their practice groups.

Andrew J. Blanchard, who joined the firm in 2005, focuses on corporate finance, asset securitization and structured finance transactions. He represents issuers and underwriters of term and revolving pool securitizations, servicer advance financing facilities, and other asset-based and structured lending facilities. He also represents mortgage lenders with respect to servicing issues and sales of loan portfolios. Blanchard serves pro bono clients through the firm’s Church Hill office.

Timothy Lee Jacobs, who joined the firm in 2005, focuses on all areas of federal income tax law, with particular emphasis on tax controversy and litigation matters. He served as an attorney-advisor on the United States Tax Court for four years and has particular knowledge in the areas of Tax Court practice, procedure and litigation. A member of the Inns of Court for the Tax Court, Jacobs has enjoyed success in his general tax practice, and especially in his tax controversy practice, both at the administrative and judicial levels.

David R. Yates, who joined the firm in 2006, focuses on international and domestic public and private mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, investments and strategic transactions. He also advises clients seeking to engage in infrastructure projects and maintenance services through public-private partnerships. Yates has been involved in numerous significant acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, concessions and other business transactions, including those involving cross-border complexities. Yates regularly represents foreign clients in connection with U.S. acquisitions, as well as domestic companies in connection with their international expansion and divestitures. Yates is active in the Association for Corporate Growth as well as the Yale Football Association.
