New York — May 29, 2008 — Hunton & Williams LLP is pleased to announce six lawyers have been promoted to Counsel status, effective May 25. Four are members of the firm's litigation and intellectual property team and two are with the tax and ERISA practice.

The new litigation and intellectual property counsel are listed below.

  • David E. "Dave" Baker joined Hunton & Williams in 2000 and is resident in the Richmond office. His practice focuses on intellectual property and patent law, including prosecution, litigation support, licensing and counseling. Dave is currently serving a three-year term on the Intellectual Property Section Council of the Virginia Bar Association.
  • L. Amy Green joined Hunton & Williams in 2003 and is resident in the Dallas office. Her practice focuses on product liability, toxic tort litigation, commercial litigation, and general civil litigation and has extensive trial experience involving product liability and complex toxic tort.
  • James R. "Jim" Miner is a member of the firm's litigation and intellectual property group. He joined Hunton & Williams in 2000 and is resident in the McLean office. His practice focuses on intellectual property, including preparation and prosecution of patent applications, patentability and right-to-use opinions, and related counseling. A core focus area is working with financial services related technologies.
  • Allie Hernandez Pennie is a member of the firm's litigation and intellectual property group. She joined Hunton & Williams in 1999 and is resident in the Miami office. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including contract disputes, class actions, business torts, product liability and appellate advocacy.

The new tax and ERISA counsel are listed below.

  • James A. Deets is a member of the firm's tax and ERISA group. He joined Hunton & Williams in 2005 and is resident in the Dallas office. His practice focuses on qualified and nonqualified plans and executive compensation matters, including issues relating to the benefits and executive compensation aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Leslie Hansen is a member of the firm's tax and ERISA group. She joined Hunton & Williams in 1999 and is resident in the New York office. Her practice focuses on all aspects of employee benefit matters, including drafting and administration for qualified and nonqualified retirement and savings plans and health and welfare plans, as well as guidance related to IRS and ERISA compliance challenges.
