MIAMI — December 5, 2011 — Hunton & Williams LLP welcomed associates Carlos A. Garcia (corporate); James. D. Mandolfo and Rebecca J. Sarinsky (labor); and Justin S. Brenner, Edwin Fragoso, Abigail M. Lyle, and Larry Muñoz (litigation) to its Miami office during 2011.

The firm's Miami office opened in 1999 and the practice emphasizes bankruptcy and creditors rights, corporate and finance, litigation, Latin America, and mergers and acquisitions, labor and employment, real estate, and tax for domestic and multinational clients. The office is home to more than 30 bilingual lawyers and professionals with longstanding ties to the Florida business community as well as extensive involvement in Central and South America.

The Lawyers

Justin Brenner, who joined the firm in September, is a member of the firm's litigation and intellectual property practice group. He focuses on complex commercial litigation. He also handles securities litigation, corporate governance and shareholder disputes, and antitrust litigation. Brenner holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware and a law degree from the University of Maryland, where he graduated magna cum laude, Order of the Barristers, Order of the Coif.

Ed Fragoso joined the firm in May as a member of the firm's commercial litigation practice group, primarily focuses on commercial and construction litigation. He has represented clients in both federal and state courts. He holds an undergraduate degree from Florida State University and a law degree from Columbia University School of Law. Fragoso is a member of the American Bar Association, Cuban-American Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, and New York County Lawyers' Association.

Carlos Garcia joined the firm in November as a member of the corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions practice group. Now an associate in the firm's Miami office, Garcia was previously with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York. He earned an undergraduate degree from George Washington University and a law degree from University of Chicago Law School.

Abby Lyle rejoined the firm in October, after serving a two-year judicial clerkship for the Honorable William P. Dimitrouleas of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. A member of the litigation team in Miami, her practice encompasses complex commercial litigation, corporate and securities litigation, class actions, and antitrust litigation. Lyle received an undergraduate degree from Furman University and a law degree from University of Miami School of Law.

James D. Mandolfo (not yet admitted to practice in Florida) joined the firm in October, following a judicial clerkship with the Honorable K. Michael Moore in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Prior to the clerkship, Mandolfo was an assistant district attorney at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office for three years, assigned to the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City of New York. While in law school, Mandolfo was a law clerk for the Special Litigation Bureau for the Office of New York State Attorney General’s Office and for the Office of the General Counsel at the New York Stock Exchange. Mandolfo received his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University and law degree from Fordham University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York.

Larry Muñoz joined the firm in February and is a member of the firm's litigation team. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation and arbitration, including products liability, business torts, and contract disputes. He has extensive experience with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), including internal investigations throughout Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East. Muñoz holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard University and a law degree from University of Miami School of Law. He is fluent in Japanese, Spanish and French.

Rebecca Sarinsky, who joined the firm in October, focuses on labor and employment law, including complex employment litigation and wage and hour class actions. Prior to joining the firm’s Miami office, she interned for the Honorable William C. Turnoff in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She was also a Legal Corps Fellow at the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Sarinsky holds an undergraduate degree from University of Florida and a law degree from University of Miami School of Law.
