WASHINGTON ― Hunton & Williams LLP has received the 2015 Beacon of Justice Award from the National Legal Aid & Defender Association, which annually acknowledges law firms that have provided an exemplary pro bono commitment to a designated area of representation. Hunton & Williams was nominated for the award in recognition of its pro bono contributions in expanding legal services to the underserved by Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services of the Archdiocese of DC.

Hunton & Williams was one of 13 law firms — which collectively donated 700,000 pro bono hours — formally honored with the award at the NLADA Exemplar Award Dinner on June 23. Suzan Kern, whose practice focuses exclusively on immigration and nationality law, accepted the award on behalf of Hunton & Williams.

This is the third time the firm has been selected for the Beacon of Justice Award. The firm received the award in 2010 for its pro bono immigration work and in 2008 for its pro bono efforts in a death penalty case.
