Hunton & Williams LLP partner John Beardsworth has been elected Chair of the Infrastructure and Regulated Industries Section of the American Bar Association (formally the Section of Public Utility, Communications and Transportation Law). The section is the third oldest in the ABA and was established in 1917, when public interest demanded regulation of areas involving communications, cable TV, internet, gas, oil pipelines, railroads and water industries, among others.

Beardsworth is global head of the firm’s business practice group and a member of Hunton’s Executive Committee and Partnership Admission Committee. His practice focuses on energy and infrastructure transactions and project finance.
