A recent World Bank Blog post, co-authored by John Beardsworth and James Schmidt, examines “Resource Financed Infrastructure: A Discussion on a New Form of Infrastructure Financing,” a report that provides an analytical discussion of “resource financed infrastructure” transactions. RFI is a new finance model in which a government pledges its future revenues from a resource development project to repay a loan used to fund construction of infrastructure. The focus of the report is a study written by Beardsworth and Schmidt, who collaborated with The World Bank and internationally reputed economists and policymakers.
