RICHMOND, Va. — December 3, 2014 — Hunton & Williams LLP announces Robert T. “Robb” Bohannon has joined the firm as Director of Government Affairs, resident in the Richmond office. With more than 10 years of experience in federal and state politics, representing trade associations in the medical, entertainment, and high tech industries, as well as a Virginia-based wellness company, Bohannon will advocate for clients on matters before state, county and city governments as a member of the firm’s state government relations team.

Bohannon’s experience includes legislative and regulatory matters related economic development, First Amendment protections, e-commerce, privacy, scope of practice, laboratory medicine, and health and wellness. He will support Hunton & Williams clients on a variety of measures, including drafting legislation, testifying before legislative committees and subcommittees, lobbying state and federal legislators, developing and implementing legislative strategies, developing and administering clients' political action committees, and developing and implementing grassroots and grasstops strategies on the local, state, and national levels. Bohannon previously served as a member of George Mason University's Computer Game Design Programs Executive Advisory Board.

The Hunton & Williams state-level government relations team is comprised of lawyers and legislative professionals with decades of experience representing clients on a variety of legislative, policy, advocacy, regulatory and procurement issues at the state, regional and local levels. The team has developed relationships on both sides of the political aisle and throughout the government bureaucracy. The team is led by Whitt Clement, who served in the Virginia House of Delegates for 14 years, was the Secretary of Transportation in Governor Mark Warner's Cabinet, and is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
