Lisa Sotto speaks with Law360 on the highly anticipated cybersecurity guidance issued by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which urges publicly traded companies to increase transparency in their public filings. Lisa explains how the guidance allows for one-stop shopping in that “it consolidates into a single document the commissioners' latest thinking.” She concludes, “While companies have been on notice for awhile about their cybersecurity disclosures, this guidance cements the need to focus on this area, and companies would be well advised to sit up and take notice of what their policies, procedures and controls are when it comes to cybersecurity.”
