In January 2017, as the former chief negotiator for the PCAOB on bilateral issues with the Chinese regulators (among many other jurisdictions), Shas Das testified before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on policies relating to “Chinese investment in the United States.” His testimony was noted in the Commission’s report to Congress that was released on November 15, 2017. In his current capacity, Shas handles a wide range of cross-border transactional and regulatory issues affecting both foreign and domestic clients, including but not limited to advising on matters related to CFIUS, an area that figured prominently in the Commission’s report.
