Hunton & Williams LLP is pleased to announce the addition of senior lawyer Anthony Bonan and the promotion to counsel of Brian J. Shortt. Both are members of the firm’s real estate team.

Anthony focuses on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, development, financing, leasing and joint ventures. He has extensive experience counseling institutional investors and lenders, real estate opportunity funds and private developers on all aspects of their real estate-related business. Anthony joins the firm from Wachtel Missry LLP. A graduate of Columbia University, he received his law degree from New York University School of Law.

Brian, who joined the firm in June 2012, focuses on commercial real estate finance, with an emphasis on representing institutional lenders in the origination of commercial mortgage and mezzanine loans. He has served as first-chair for a number of transactions, including commercial and investment banks that originate CMBS loan transactions, portfolio lenders, real estate investment funds and trusts, and a rating agency. He is a graduate of Duke University and received a law degree from Boston College Law School.

Over the past year, the practice has also expanded its national capabilities with the addition of key lawyers in Los Angeles, Washington and Dallas.
