US market welcomes Waxman-Markey climate bill, Environmental Finance

Joseph C. Stanko, head of the firm's government relations practice, commented on the Waxman-Markey climate bill which will create an emissions trading system in the United State. It is a comprehensive energy bill, Stanko stressed, and it is the first time in legislature that the climate change will be discussed in the context of a complete energy debate.

Stanko's practice focuses on issue advocacy before Congress, the White House and other Executive Branch officials in the areas of global climate change, renewable and bio-fuels, the Clean Air Act and other environmental laws, energy policy, and Homeland Security.
