The world today is rapidly moving forward, Hunton & Williams foresee growing opportunity of new emerged targets as well as our clients who get ready for new business generation of technology and economy advancement in Asia-Pacific Region. We are looking for the new high-qualified lawyers to join us and to be based on the Bangkok office in supporting the growth of the new and our regular clients of our Energy & Infrastructure and Corporate team in the coming future.

ASSOCIATES’ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Legal research and writing, and distilling legal concepts into advice that Thai and foreign clients can understand.
  • Preparing and negotiating acquisition, joint venture, loan and security, construction and other agreements.
  • Managing transactions from their inception to closing.
  • Mentoring associates and legal assistants; reporting directly to senior partners.
  • Take on leadership and administrative duties (e.g. business development, billing, and recruiting and retention).
  • Team player, ability to work under pressure without scarifying quality, and good inter-personal skills.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate should have at least five years of post-qualification experience in business law and commercial transactions at other reputable law firms, in-house departments or equivalent positions.  Overseas work experience would be preferred.

  • Qualifying law degree from a respected Thai or overseas university.
  • Master’s or second law degree (e.g. LLM) from a respected Thai or overseas university would be preferred.
  • Thai lawyer’s license is required.
  • Overseas qualification (e.g. US or UK qualification) would be an advantage, but not required.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in business law in an international setting.
  • Excellent command of Thai and English.
  • An ability to speak, read and write in a language other than Thai and English (especially, Mandarin, Cantonese or Japanese) would be preferred, but not required.
  • Project finance and development experience in energy and other infrastructure assets would be preferred. 

Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in both Thai and English, demonstrate initiative, self-discipline and potential for leadership, and have the maturity, judgment and confidence to take on increasingly difficult assignments and work independently with clients and colleagues on complex commercial transactions in Thailand and internationally.  Candidates would be expected to help expand our practice in Thailand and internationally and develop strong client relationships.
