Carter’s practice focuses on class action and complex commercial litigation.

Carter’s litigation practice focuses on complex commercial disputes and class action and multidistrict litigation at the trial and appellate levels. She represents clients in a wide range of matters involving antitrust, RICO, breach of contract, fraud, false advertising, and unfair business practices claims. Carter has extensive experience with motion practice, deposition and witness preparation, internal investigations, arbitration, and electronic discovery.

Carter maintains an active pro bono practice, which includes litigating in DC Superior Court on behalf of indigent persons and 501(c)(3) charitable organizations, advising 501(c) organizations on tax-exempt status applications and corporate governance matters, and regularly participating in the DC Bar Advice and Referral Clinic for low-income individuals. She serves as a member of the firm’s pro bono committee.

Prior to joining Hunton & Williams LLP, Carter clerked for the Honorable Thomas W. Phillips on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. She was a summer associate with Hunton & Williams in 2010 and with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in 2009.
