Overview

Michelle focuses his practice on personal injury and toxic tort litigation. With a background synthesizing complex civil, criminal, and regulatory actions, and conducting factual investigations, Michelle advises clients regarding product liability, mass tort, and energy litigation related matters. He has experience with NAESB contract interpretation issues, scope of casualty to real property amid global pandemics, special relationships between insureds and insurers, the limits of a bankruptcy court’s authority to compel arbitration of adversary proceedings, arbitration appellate standards of review, and choice-of-law issues.

Prior to joining the firm, Michelle was a law clerk for the Honorable Dee D. Drell in the US District Court of the Western District of Louisiana and interned for the Honorable James L. Dennis in the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. While in law school, he served on the administrative board of the moot court program, coached the Thurgood Marshall Appellate Team to a national championship, and earned Tulane Law’s top appellate advocacy award for two consecutive years. Michelle also earned the Cullen R. Liskow Award for Outstanding Performance in Oil & Gas Law and received the Dean Donald R. Moore Crest Award for his leadership and service to the law school community.

Before law school, Michelle taught high school math for seven years in New Orleans public schools.
