Two deals for which Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP served as advisor were recently recognized as part of the 2024 Project Finance International (PFI) Yearbook and Awards.

The firm was recognized with Wind Deal of the Year at the Asia-Pacific Awards for its role as advisor to the sponsors and borrower of the Monsoon Wind project, a 600 MW wind project that is the first cross-border wind energy plant in Lao PDR and the largest onshore wind energy farm in Southeast Asia. This project finance team effort was led by Bangkok-based partners, Edward B. Koehler, James P. Bradley, and Chumbhot Plangtrakul, Tokyo-based partner Sean C. Conaty, and London-based partner Ferdinand Calice.

Additionally, an infrastructure-financing deal for which the firm served as lenders’ international co-counsel was recognized as Infrastructure Deal of the Year at the Americas Awards. Counsel Christian Rudloff led the firm’s team that advised the lenders in the Aguas Horizonte SpA’s financing of Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile’s (Codelco) water supply project, a project that will mitigate Chile’s ongoing water supply issues with the construction and operation of a reverse osmosis desalination plant and water supply system in the coastal area of Northern Chile.
