Hunton Andrews Kurth Represents IFC in Subscription of Preferred Shares in Colombia

On April 27, 2022, the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”) closed a $10 million subscription of preferred shares of Vatia S.A. E.S.P., a utility company (empresa de servicios públicos) in Colombia (the “Company”). The proceeds of the subscription will be used by the Company to expand its renewable assets and other operations in Colombia.

The US-based firm of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised IFC as international counsel in connection with the structuring and negotiation of the key investment documents. Colombian legal advice to IFC was provided by PPU Abogados and Dentons Cardenas & Cardenas served as Colombian counsel to the Company.
