Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP will participate in the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy supporting the Atlanta Food Bank for the tenth year in a row, which kicks off Monday, April 18.

“The Georgia Legal Food Frenzy is an incredible initiative with a critical impact,” said Doug Selby, Hunton Andrews Kurth, Atlanta office managing partner. “We feel it is so important to give back to those in need. Nobody should have to wonder where their next meal will come from. Our office regularly supports the Atlanta Food Bank during the holidays and throughout the year, and we are honored to participate in the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy serving so many.”

The Office of the Attorney General, the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Food Bank Association joined forces to create the friendly fundraising competition among Georgia law firms, legal organizations, judicial circuits and corporate in-house counsel to support Georgia’s regional food banks in 2012. Teams compete to earn points by fundraising for the food bank and promoting the competition, and there are multiple award categories and opportunities for statewide recognition. Since inception, the Legal Food Frenzy has raised the equivalent of 12.2 million meals for Georgia’s food banks statewide, including over $2.3 million dollars raised for Atlanta Community Food Bank.

“Hunton Andrews Kurth’s Atlanta office has been dedicated to this effort throughout the years, donating nearly $45,000 and more than 800 pounds of food since we started participating in the Legal Food Frenzy in 2012,” added Rie Steinbrenner, Community Service Committee Lead for the Atlanta Hunton Andrews Kurth office. “We look forward to another successful competition and encourage law firms across the city to participate as well.”
