New York City — July 15, 2008 — Hunton & Williams LLP is pleased to announce Penny Shamblin, Evan Wolff and Andrea Wortzel have been promoted to Counsel status, effective June 27. All are members of the firm's administrative law practice, which comprises lawyers with a thorough understanding of government regulatory actions and others with high-level government experience. The group's focus includes environmental law, homeland security, life sciences, and other regulatory matters. With more than 80 lawyers addressing emerging environmental issues including climate change, Hunton & Williams' environmental practice is one of the largest and most prominent in the nation.

Penny A. Shamblin joined Hunton & Williams in 2000, following graduation from the University of Texas School of Law, and is resident in the Richmond office. Her practice focuses on a broad range of environmental issues arising under federal and state law, with an emphasis on air permitting issues. Ms. Shamblin graduated from Tennessee Technological University with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering and a master's degree in health physics from Texas A&M University.

Evan D. Wolff joined Hunton & Williams in Washington DC in 2007, as the director of the firm's homeland security practice. He had been an advisor to the senior leadership at the Department of Homeland Security and other U.S. government agencies. His practice concentrates on homeland security, including chemical security regulatory compliance, SAFETY Act, corporate internal investigations, corporate compliance and governance, government relations, congressional investigations, and environmental audits and compliance. He recently was appointed to the Board of Advisers of The Homeland Security & Defense Business Council, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization established to promote the role of industry in achieving the vision and mission for homeland security in the United States and globally. An undergraduate of the University of Maryland, Mr. Wolff earned a master's degree in geology from Northern Arizona University and a law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.

Andrea W. Wortzel joined Hunton & Williams in 2002 and is resident in the Richmond office. Her practice focuses on regulatory counseling, providing advice about environmental enforcement, permitting, federal and state rulemaking, water rights and water supply planning, and project development. Ms. Wortzel has organized Mission H2O, a stakeholder group tracking water supply planning developments in Virginia. Prior to joining Hunton & Williams, Ms. Wortzel was a Water Enforcement Coordination Manager with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. She received an undergraduate degree in economics from William & Mary and received her law degree magna cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law.
