Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that partner Andrea DeField was named to the South Florida Business Journal’s 2024 list of Influential Business Women. The award recognizes 25 women who have a strong record of leadership, performance and innovation in their industry, as well as meaningful community involvement.

DeField, a partner in the insurance coverage practice and co-leader of the firm’s cyber insurance practice, finds risk management, risk transfer and insurance recovery solutions for public and private companies. Her clients include many Fortune 500 companies, particularly in the retail and consumer products, energy, hospitality, and financial services industries. DeField has represented and counseled numerous clients on large cyber-related insurance claims arising out of social engineering and fraudulent transfer schemes, data breaches, cyber extortion, and/or other internationally publicized cyber incidents. As part of her counseling practice, DeField adds value to business deals by advising clients on contractual risk transfer through indemnity, additional insured and required insurance provisions in contracts. She also helps clients identify and mitigate risk before a loss occurs by conducting insurance due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and audits of clients’ insurance programs to identify gaps in coverage before renewal. DeField has litigated and arbitrated insurance coverage and bad faith cases throughout the country.

All honorees, including DeField, will be featured in the March 15 special issue of South Florida Business Journal introducing the Influential Business Women of 2024.
