WASHINGTON — July 27, 2017— Working Mother Media named Hunton & Williams LLP one of its 2017 “50 Best Law Firms for Women.” The winning firms were chosen for their family friendly policies and career development initiatives that are helping retain women lawyers and advance them into the leadership pipeline. This is the eighth year that Hunton & Williams has been included on this important list. The 50 firms are featured in the current issue of Working Mother magazine and on workingmother.com, and will also be highlighted in the October issue of The ABA Journal.
“We are committed to the professional development and advancement of our women lawyers,” stated Wally Martinez, managing partner of Hunton & Williams. “We are proud that the firm’s strong programs and initiatives have again resulted in our being recognized as one of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women.”
Hunton & Williams has developed and implemented multiple programs that benefit women, including flexible and reduced-hours work arrangements, a concierge program, emergency back-up child and adult care, child care leave for both primary and non-primary caregivers, and accommodations for new mothers transitioning back to full-time employment. Women partners serve as members of the firm’s Executive Committee and head practice groups and firm offices. In addition, a strong professional development curriculum offers leadership and business development training as well as formal and informal mentoring and networking opportunities.
Meredith Bodgas, editor-in-chief of Working Mother, stated, “The Best Law Firms for Women are not only setting the standard for the modern-day law firm in supporting flexible work arrangements and offering generous paid leave but also ensuring that lawyers who take advantage of these programs are not excluded from the partnership track.”
