Hunton & Williams LLP is pleased to announce that corporate partner Douglas S. Granger has been appointed managing partner of the firm’s Richmond office. The Richmond office includes business law, litigation and regulatory practices, and has 450 employees, including 225 attorneys.

Granger’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions, and he has served as lead counsel on multiple “Deal of the Year” transactions named by M&A Atlas and M&A Advisor. Granger has been in the Richmond office of Hunton & Williams for more than 32 years, and he has been the longtime relationship partner for several important firm clients. In addition to his practice, Granger is on the firm’s Associates Committee, has been active in recruiting and has been involved with numerous community organizations.

“Doug is clearly invested in Richmond and has mentored many young lawyers throughout his career at the firm,” said George Howell, the firm’s executive committee chairman, who is also based in Richmond. “His strong corporate practice, firm relationships, commitment to client service, and strong engagement with the Richmond community make him the right person to help lead our Richmond office.”

Granger succeeds T. Justin (“Jay”) Moore III, who recently became Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Altria Group, Inc., one of the firm’s longest-standing clients.

Granger joined the firm in 1985. He received his undergraduate business management degree from the College of William & Mary and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
