Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that counsel Douglas Dua has been recognized by the Lawyers Alliance for New York with a Cornerstone Award. These awards are presented annually to a select group of individuals and institutions that have made extraordinary contributions through pro bono legal services.

A corporate attorney focusing on renewable and other advanced energy technology deals and asset ownership matters, Dua has been involved for nearly a decade in pro bono services in partnership with Lawyers Alliance for New York, an institution that has helped lawyers to serve New York for more than fifty years. The organization is recognizing him in particular for his “governance, intellectual property and other legal assistance that has enabled nonprofit organizations such as Neighborhood Preservation Center and The Knowledge House to better support their local communities through advocacy and education.”

Dua primarily focuses his practice on the power generation sector, and more specifically on renewables, energy storage, advanced nuclear energy and other next-generation energy technologies. On a regular basis, he represents parties to tax equity financing and loan transactions for renewable projects. Dua’s experience also includes development and construction of distributed asset portfolios and an advanced nuclear generating facility, portfolio and single-asset mergers and acquisitions, formation and governance of partnerships and negotiation of construction, supply, hedging, service and other project-related agreements.
