Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP has been recognized as a 2025 finalist for The National Law Journal (NLJ) Appellate Hot List. The list, part of NLJ’s annual Professional Excellence Awards, recognizes top law firms that have handled exemplary appellate matters.

Finalists for the Hot List “possess an impressive appellate track record overall,” and have at least one “significant win, prevailing before the U.S. Supreme Court, a federal appeals court, or a state court of last resort when an important legal principle was at stake or the stakes were high, financially or otherwise.”

Hunton has an accomplished nationwide appellate practice that has appeared many times on the list before. The practice is chaired by partner Elbert Lin, includes a former federal appellate judge, and was recently bolstered by the addition of partner Ryan Clinton, a former Texas Assistant Solicitor General, to lead the Texas appellate practice. The team has represented clients in federal and state appellate courts nationwide, including in the Supreme Court of the United States and in every federal court of appeals.
