Virginia Lawyers Weekly Recognizes Rudene Mercer Haynes in its 2025 Managing Partners Spotlight

Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is proud to announce that Partner Rudene Mercer Haynes has been named to Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s Managing Partners Spotlight. The spotlight is comprised of managing partners in the Commonwealth who have helped their firms increase revenue, grow and maintain their talent base, kept their firms active in their communities and pushed their firms to achieve important goals and milestones.

Haynes is managing partner of Hunton’s Richmond office, the firm’s largest location, which has more than 180 attorneys and 264 staff members. She is also the co-leader of the firm’s servicer advance financing practice and has historically represented Ginnie Mae in its Multiclass and Mortgage-Backed Securities programs. Haynes has contributed greatly to the success of this practice that enjoys top rankings in representing issuers and underwriters in US asset-backed securities and mortgage-backed securities. Her fascination with numbers and problem solving provides tangible benefits to her structured finance and securitization clients. She has also been recognized on “The Power List” as one of Virginia’s 500 “Most Powerful Leaders” by Virginia Business.

Appointed as Managing Partner in April 2025, Haynes has consistently served as an exceptional ambassador for the firm as well as an engaged leader in the Richmond community. In this role, Haynes continues to focus on strengthening community engagement both inside and outside of Hunton. Her 26 years with the firm reflect her deep dedication and commitment to its growth and prosperity.
